Just got a new 8800GT (Xpert Vision)
Im only getting about 7200 on 3dmark06.
My spec is E6300
2gb Geil 6400
8800GT
GA-965P-DS3

Is there anything quick i can do to check the graphic card clocks?
Does the score seem low?

Try GPU-Z to show default and current clocks. Also check that its running in PCI-16x. Its a big blow to 8800's if it runs in 8x or lower

Says the BUS interface is PCI-E 2.0x16@x16, so i guess its running at 16x.

Im wondering if the video drivers are any good.
Say all this CoD4 is now running at about 70fps on the very starter bit rather than 29 on my 7900gs

This are my specs of the card something looks wrong

GPU 600mhz
Memory 900mhz
Shader 1500mhz

Shouldnt the memory be a lot more than that? The memory clock in Rivatuner only goes up to 1350.

well the only other thing i can think is that if your e6300 is running at 1.86ghz then this would hold you back but i wouldn't expect if to reduce your 3dmark score to 7200. Maybe someone here with that CPU/GPU would be able to tell you

I would.

My step bro is running a cheap EVGA (650i) motherboard, an OcUK Value 8800GTX graphics card, E6300 at stock, 2 gb of ram and he tops just over 8000 3d marks for 2006. 7300 seems about right for that spec.

I would say it's proportioned about right. The GTX is a better card, but it's not millions times better. He also runs about 18 thousand different programs in his system tray so I wouldn't have though it was performing as well as it could!

Im sat here ready to download nvidia driver update. Can someone tell me which is the best to install?

I had heard the latest are a bit poop for AA and AF.

Sorry for the tripple post but...

So i reinstalled xp on my new harddrive (Pritty much the same as my old one)
Updated everything, installed my virus checker and zonealarm.

Now im getting 8495!

The mind boggles.

well 8495 sounds more like it. now get overclocking the CPU and watch 10,000 come and go
