Hi all

Is there a quick way other than my having to disconnect/disable my lan when i connect to wifi for internet?

I want to have access to the devices connected to the lan when tethering to my phones wifi.

Cheers

If it's just access to stuff on the LAN you want then you shouldn't need to do anything - it should just work. I'm doing it right now actually whilst testing a new 4G hotspot, I'm using 4G to reach the internet but can still reach stuff on my LAN.

Your PC should still have an IP address on your LAN and use that LAN interface to reach anything in the same address space.

I don’t think I was very clear in my original post. It works just as you said I can access everything whilst connected to both WiFi and lan.

I want to keep my lan connected permanently and then occasionally connect to the WiFi on my phone, however it will not automatically use the internet connection from the WiFi.

I need to disconnect the lan and then wait for the pc to pick up the internet before I can reconnect the lan. But my major problem is that the internet seems to switch back to from the lan connection (probably because the WiFi hotspot drops out sometimes).

I was wondering how I can choose where the internet comes from or has a priority of choice. Of that makes any sense

So I've set my vpn connection to 2, iphone tethered connection to 3 and my LAN connection to 5 but it still sometimes switches over to the LAN connection. probably because the iphone connection will drop from time to time.

it should just reconnect though right?
