How to clean a waterblock?

So basically I have an EK Supreme HF and I use an indigo extreme thermal pad. The problem is that the block gets clogged up and I usually have to open the block up and clean it with a toothbrush.

I was wondering what the best way of cleaning the block without taking it off was? This is so I don't have to apply a new pad each time.

Id first be looking at why its getting clogged up and rectify that rather than just cleaning it everytime.

Edit: Pretty sure white vinegar works well though.

Cleaning it pretty much requires taking it apart. Pumping water through it under pressure may help, but it's unlikely to be particularly effective.

+1 to getting rid of the dye / algae instead

pll have used clear viniger to clean rads so can't see why not on a block. saw it on a old site over-clock forum. shop isn't there now as boss closed ill health. macci i think gd bloke. forum could well be still going tho

as other have said viniger (the clear type) or tomato sauce and a tooth brush.
Rince at least twice with di-oinised/distilled water after.

But get the gunk out of your loop - prevention is better that cure

I presume you are using some sort of coloured coolant? Not Feser one is it? Get it out flush the loop through, strip the blocks down, then refill with distilled/de-ionised water and a kill coil or Primochill Liquid Utopia. No more clogged blocks. If you want colour use coloured tubing.

Hey nope its distilled water and kill coil. The crap thats clogging up the block is most likely flux from the thermochill rads. The water itself goes cloudy/white. I've done the whole boiling water in the rad thing many times now and it keeps coming back. Annoying thing is that my temps increase by 8 - 10 degrees on load using indigo extreme. Ill try white vinegar, hopefully this will clean the block without have to open it up.

nope just flushed it out with boiling water, at least over 20 times by now. The water came out clear each time. Not sure about vinegar, get mixed opinions about it being good/bad for radiators.

flushing with vinegar is fine - leaving it over night is a no-no.

If it's a new rad then it should be water based flux so boiling water is more that enough.
Can you get a photo of the gunk?
