How to connect a bluetooth device over long distance?

Hi so upstairs I have my gaming PC and downstairs a 4k HDR TV.

I've bought a HDMI cable long enough to connect my PC upstairs to TV downstairs, no issues there.

However I have a Xbox controller which I want to use while downstairs, it needs to be connected to the gaming PC either by bluetooth. But as you can imagine over a distance of about 10M and a floor in between the signal does not pass through at all.

What could I do or buy so I can either amplify the bluetooth signal or is there a way of connecting the controller to the PC over a 10M distance?

Would appreciate some help!

Thank you

Does the TV have steam link?

This probably doesn't help at all. But I can plug my 360 pad dongle into my TV and it works somehow, like magic. It controls the game I'm using over steam link.

Not tried this but could get a USB extender cable, follow that with the hdmi cable into the room downstairs and then usb the bluetooth dongle?

I have a USB 3.0 extender cable but for some reason the bluetooth adapter and the micro USB cable (for the xbox) is not picked up by the PC, it just keeps displaying the malfunctioning error message.

No idea why they don't work as that was my primary solution.

I don't have a steam link no but I was using Moonlight which is the same thing but the latency is too much for my liking. Will perhaps test this again.

Is it an active or passive cable? If it's >3m it needs to be active. Long active cables might not be able to supply much power at the other end, so you could try a powered hub, and plug the BT adapter into that.

It's a basic one, I believe it's passive.

I have tried:

PC - USB 3 extender - original xbox micro usb cable - this works but only a few metres so cannot use unfortunately

PC - USB 3 extender - new 3M micro usb cable - does not work with xbox controller but does work for my phone, so must be a power issue?

PC - USB 3 extender - bluetooth adapter - does not work
