Hono has been pretty helpful on a-lot of my threads, always putting forward good advice and specifications, good advice, and always seems polite etc. I remember seeing the first post you linked though, if I remember correctly it was in a thread I was contributing in and I ended a mini flame war between bacon? and hono... I don't agree with the post which hono submitted there, but we all have our moments. The second one seems to be a joke, and the kind of thing many people would say.
I may have no authority to say this, but I feel that I should put my 2p out there. I don't think hono is trying to be spiteful, just maybe thinking he can get away with too much joking around. I think everyone has pushed a joke too far at one point or another, and I don't agree with the first reply where you said "But nice try on yet another pathetic point scoring exercise." Fighting fire with fire doesn't work. (if indeed that was your original reply) but you decided better of it afterwords which is something you can't get away with in face to face conversation.
Personally I like all three of you in question (honosuseri, Bacon? and you Stulid). It's late, lets all just calm down eh..?
Anyway, back to the subject of the thread, I have seen cathode tubes which require an inverter, and cathode tubes which do not. If you can, try to confirm with the person who gave it to you whether or not it needed one, ask him how he connected it, or search the model online
