How to connect ?

Cant make out anything in the tiny picture, but it looks like a cathode tube or similar?

Do you have a link to the product? or a picture of the cabling ends.

From a look around (never used one) you need to feed it 12V?

How many wires go into that connector?

Do you have any better pictures as they are shocking, did it come with an inverter?

I've not used a cathode kit in like forever. That said they run on AC, your rig supplies DC power. So there should be a little box (the inverter) which you plug the tubes into and plug a molex connector from the PSU into it too. It converts the DC power from the PSU back to AC so the tubes will work

yeah it was just the tube on its own :(

and thanx :)

No worries fella. That said I do shoot to thrill...........shame you've been mugged off, keep a stiff upper lip, atleast you're off the highway to hell ;)

Someone will get the AC/DC references I hope :P

P.S Stulid I noticed your Ninja editing to save face over the inverter lol

It's the only edit in this thread.

Perhaps you should stop trying to get one up on people;) wearing thin fast.

We solved the mystery bud, we replied at the same time. It's late, if I misread your post I apologise. It's possible my eyes are playing tricks on me.....but you do love to tease when you have the opportunity too, don't deny it ;)

P.S Ninja editing your last reply saying you made only one edit.....that's a bit of joke dude lol

I suggest you stop now;)

I have made one edit in this thread, you are taking this thread of subject.

I don't appreciate being threatened Stulid, I've lost a little respect for you now I must say :(

To get back on topic. The reason I haven't used a CCFL kit in a long time Foster is that I have seen a number of the inverters burn out and it's not pretty when they do. It's strange that you have only been given the tubes and not the inverter, perhaps it had burnt out which is why they were given away......of course they might have just forgotten to pack it so double check if you really want to use them.

Cut a long story short Foster, I think you are better off without. If you want some lighting in your case, maybe consider some LED fans if you don't have them already. I was given a Bitfenix Hydra Pro LED/Fan controller to review. It allows you to adjust the fan speeds but also toggle the LEDs on/off with their range of spectre fans. If you are into case modding maybe this would appeal to you?

If you do really want a UV CCFL or a coloured CCFL, OCuk do sell them but none are in stock that I can see.

You are the one who started by saying I added something about an inverter into my post..I didn't end off.

You seem to lately be trying to score little points against me, or Bacon or others.

And it also continued in another thread (something about a lack of DVD drive if I remember correctly)

I'm here trying to help the OP.

We are all supposed to be here to help each other. It's meant as lighthearted banter, we discussed this earlier but I don't feel the need to link to that thread.

If I offend anyone I will ALWAYS apologise, maybe my sense of humour is an acquired taste. Nice of you to pick out two threads making me look like a bad guy. Maybe try linking the threads where I have helped him (Bacon) through his first build, he also posted in my Bitfenix review and I answered his questions to help educate him better to help others. I don't think he minds the banter as he gives it back to me, as do others. You make plenty of digs yourself fella when it suits you

Hono has been pretty helpful on a-lot of my threads, always putting forward good advice and specifications, good advice, and always seems polite etc. I remember seeing the first post you linked though, if I remember correctly it was in a thread I was contributing in and I ended a mini flame war between bacon? and hono... I don't agree with the post which hono submitted there, but we all have our moments. The second one seems to be a joke, and the kind of thing many people would say.

I may have no authority to say this, but I feel that I should put my 2p out there. I don't think hono is trying to be spiteful, just maybe thinking he can get away with too much joking around. I think everyone has pushed a joke too far at one point or another, and I don't agree with the first reply where you said "But nice try on yet another pathetic point scoring exercise." Fighting fire with fire doesn't work. (if indeed that was your original reply) but you decided better of it afterwords which is something you can't get away with in face to face conversation.

Personally I like all three of you in question (honosuseri, Bacon? and you Stulid). It's late, lets all just calm down eh..? :)

Anyway, back to the subject of the thread, I have seen cathode tubes which require an inverter, and cathode tubes which do not. If you can, try to confirm with the person who gave it to you whether or not it needed one, ask him how he connected it, or search the model online :)

I only comment when it helps someone with their spec or to suggest the odd better part.

I don't think I have bothered digging at somone for editing their post to try and look better for ages.

This has now gone well of the thread topic.
