How to copy files from Raid 1 ntfs ?

Hi again all,

Could someone tell me the best way to copy files from a raid 1 ntfs array to another hd without using windows?

I can get into windows recovery, but not windows, so need to copy some files off of the drives.

Whats the best way to do it?

Perhaps remove one of the drives from the RAID and format/install windows afresh from there and copy the files using the dead windows drive as a slave? I'm sure there are better ways though, so don't take this as a first port of call.

Long shot:
Boot with the XP CD and go to MS-DOS prompt, browse to the folder that has the files, and type "copy *.* d:\" that copies all the contents of the folder to the D:\ drive but not the folders inside that folder.
