How to crack a truecrypt account?

If he runs it in a VM that (depending on the exact nature of the VM and instructions/CPU capabilities etc.) will potentially slow down cracking it immensely. Even if its only 6 chars theres a good chance he will be waiting quite a long time potentially even tho the quickest possible time may be minutes the average time will certainly be a LOT longer.

Truecrypt can use a file as the access "password". So, you encrypt the account using 4kb or so of random noise as the decryption key. If you like, use a password too.

I think that probably rules out brute force, provided you've had the wit not to leave the key file on the system in question.

That point aside, the truecrack website is written nearly as badly as the OP. This reduces my faith in it working somewhat.

:D

Just thought I'd update this thread. Cobwebs finally gone from my mind, password remembered!

It was 15 characters long with special characters. Chances of cracking would have been low I'm guessing! :D
