Okay, ive been flitting around with different odds and sods, but have finally TRULY decided :p on what method to use.

However im not sure if its possible.

I wish when someone loads up the webpage for the website background to pan out (eg so you can see more of the picture) before the options at the top come and the text box appears.

Anyone got any tutorials or useful things to search for on google, as im found wanting atm.

P.s I have got the Adobe CS4 suite, so anything based of this would be great.

Many many thanks.

Thanks for the advise unknowndomain, i'll check it out now.

Basically for the interactivity for my webpage, I wish for the picture that I have to pan out (eg give the impression someone is walking backwards in my picture so they can see more) before the actual webpage engages.

err you should be able to this with a simple mask and shape tween on the timeline if your not confident with as2/3

layer 1: your image

layer 2: a simple box of any colour/fill - doesnt need a stroke but doesnt really matter... centered above the image, but only covering half of it. then move along the timeline on this layer and press f6 at say... frame 25, this will create a new keyframe for you, click on your box, and press q - should bring up the transform tool, where you can expand this box out by holding shift+alt, and dragging one of the corner pins out. right click along the timeline in between your 2 keyframes (first frame is always a keyframe - second is the one you created with f6) and hit shape tween.

right click on the layer 2 label and select mask from the menu... this should give you the effect you want? - test by scrubbing the timeline

oh and ull probably have to select frame 25 on ur image layer and press f5 so the image exists amongst those 25 frames

Fantastic stuff, just what im looking for.

Many many thanks for your help, will study the .FLA intently :)

How I wish I hadnt spent 4 years religiously on CS-S. :(

Html + CSS is generally much better than flash for building websites in most situations though, so it was time well spent.
