I love decking as well. Easy to maintain, you can have big pots for plants which you can move or get rid of if you want. But it's only part of his garden that's been decked, so it's not a total amount of decking. I think it's great - really looking forward to seeing it completed. If I had a steep slope like that, decking would be the obvious choice.

Seen steeper slopes mown... with a Flymo hanging on a bit of rope and dangled from the top of the slope.

In any event, mowing challenges don't excuse the decking disaster. It could have been terraced.

Ah, those new pictures make the context of your decking much clearer. It looked like some kind of monstrosity in the first pics but seeing it in context, it looks really good.
