It's actually Turkish (Ottoman if we're being pedantic!). The greeks tend to stick to souvlaki (diced meat on a grill). But chilli sauce is not authentic IMO. Though serving pickled chillies as a side dish is, and those are tasty!

Surely at least one member of your circle gets them when out?

^^ Either skewered meat (Shish, what i always get, actually quite nice) or Nasty processed crap (doner, as above) in a pitta with salad and sauces.
