Hey.

How do you stop power managment settings for your CPU in Gigabyte boards (Z77X-D3H)?

I have overclocked my 3570K to 4.6GHz and it always run's at 1.28v yet the CPU still clocks down to 1.6GHz at idle. How can I stop it from clocking down?

Here are the options I see:

I tried turning off EIST but then Windows only detects the speed as it's stock 3.4GHz even though in BIOs it's set to 4.6GHz.

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Turn off EIST then check your CPU with CPU-Z for an accurate reading.

When EIST is turned off, CPU-Z says it's 4.6GHz but all other software (such as real temp, Windows, sidebar gadget) all say it's 3.4GHz. CPU-Z seems to be the only application I have which shows the overclock.

How reliable is this?

Thanks.

MORE SPEED I'll give that a try in a second, thanks :)

You need to turn c3/c6 state support off

Done that and the problem still persists:(

use an updated version of cpu-z

keep all power saving on,its usefull, its not the pc its cpu-z not showing correct idle voltage

I have got the most recent version but it's still displaying the manually set voltage. Tried with AIDA64 to but that still says the same.

All to do with the a power plan on windows.

Change the power plan to balance will show CPU-Z 1.6GHZ.

Thank you, that was the issue.

My computer was on balanced by default so I changed to high performance and the CPU stays at the overclock :) I then created a new power plan based off balanced but just modified the processor section and it seems to work perfectly.

Thank you for your help :)
