How to Dispose Old Faulty CRT?

you're best giving it to an WEEE (i think thats the name) approved collection site.

which your local council tip will be. Just take it down the tip, they'll have a corner of the tip dedicated to old electrical stuff. Just leave it there.

you're not under a legal obligation to do this, but it will be properly recycled under an EU funded scheme. Considering how little hassle it is, you may as well do it properly :)
