Ok, so i have a tv on my wall on the other side of the room, just using internal speakers atm.

What i'd like to do is get some way (preferably without going wireless) of rigging up a 2.1 sound system around the tv, but then having something similar to the control pod on the logitech 333 (and other similar systems) which i can route for controlling volume, and more importantly plugging in earphones (so i can use it at night)

Problem is the wire length, straight line its 2m but to route it out of the way i'm gonna need closer to 6m+ of cable to get to where i want the headphone jack to be.

Any ideas? Ideally if i can try stay around the £50 ish mark (at least not too far north) would be great.

I assume you'd be looking at speakers mounted on the wall as well? If not; where would they be placed?

Having a long 3.5mm extension run from where the speakers are to be located to where the PC is (assume that is what you have in mind), is not a problem if you can route it round.

The problem will be finding speakers that have any kind of wall mounting on them. Being PC speakers, it's probably rare to find any hole on the rear for easy wall mounting.

I don't know how easy it would be to get some speaker wall mounts, and somehow attach the satellites to them; or maybe some kind of shelf to place them on?

Either that or just have them on something below where the TV is.

there's a set of bookshelves right next to where the tv is (which is wall mounted) onto which i already have various consoles etc wired up and a wire to connect the laptop if needs be.

it's all wired in to the tv, and i intend to use the tv's headphone out port as the link (hence 2.1 as it's only 1 jack), and have the speakers on the shelves.

it's routing a further headphone extension from the speakers, all the way round to the other side of the room that i'm having trouble with.
