hi, about to take plunge with vista but want to dual boot with xp,just got a new harddrive.do i just put xp and vista on seperate partitions.if so does it then automatically create a menu option to pick which operating system to use when you start up?

if you install xp first, then vista, it will indeed give you a menu at bootup to select which OS you want to boot into.

:)

Worked for me, in fact it was so simple I was shocked, I don't think I actually had to do anything!

windows has always been like this. it's nothing new. provided you install the os'es in date order, oldest first, windows setup always looks after you with regards to setting up a dual/multiple boot menu. :)
