How to dull a cathode light

Hello i have some white cathode`s fitted in my case but they are a little to bright,is there a easy way to make them duller.

I dont think you can dim them in anyway but I may be worng on this.

I would just tape over half the cathode and see what effect that has on the total glow.

theres an old mod using nail varnish i used it on one of my old pink/red cathodes to give it more of a red glow instead of pink or you could put some tracing paper around it as that would dim it
 
i made mine duller by putting the cathode in some of that "cable tidy" spiral stuff(black). its got slots in it so just the right amount of light comes through ;)
 
It probably is possible to do it thru electronic means, but those things run mega high voltage (over 500v) and are dangerous! :eek: Stick to tape or whatever you can find. :)
 
Yeah, cathodes work a bit different to normal bulbs and LED's, so unless you know what you're doing I'd avoid messing with the electronics.
