How to enable/use Saint's row cheats

Hello there, now, I love Saint's row, but completed it not long after I bought it last year, but I still play it every now and then just to have a mess about.

So I've been trying a few cheats to make it a little more interesting, which consist of (I won't spoil it for those who don't know) a hash symbol then the cheat code, now I get the dialogue saying cheat enabled: money etc.

But I don't actually get any money, weapons, cars spawning, I get the dialogue for all of them, but none work, and as the cheats disable the achievements, I thought it might be a problem that I had a lot of the achievements, so I signed out of my gamer profile and started a new game under no gamer profile, yet they still don't work.

Now I've had a search around to see if you have to enable them in anyway, but there isn't anything about this.

So if anyone knows how to get them working, that'd be great, I just want to have a laugh and mess about on it now

You enter them in to your Cell phone do you not?

Yeah you enter hash then the cheat code, the dialogue comes up for me saying cheat activated, but they never are, it's weird.

Strange, i have never tried them....Didnt wanna risk my achievements at the time but now my cousin has my game so can't try

You dial them into your phone, then after it says 'cheat activated' they show up listed in the 'cheats' option IIRC (or some similarly named option in the phone). Then you select whatever cheat you want to use, and a message will come up saying something about not getting achievments with cheats activated, press 'ok' and repeat as many times as you want. You dont actually dial them in each time, just once.

Ahhh that's probably where I'm going wrong then, all the websites I got them from never mentioned this, I'll go have a look
