Hi,

ive got a dell latitude c840 laptop and was wondering how I can open it up to fit another stick of memory in?

thanks for any help.

The manufacturers website is the best bet, they do actually have pretty good guides as to how to install more memory, replace the keyboard etc. I think you have to input your laptops model number or customer service number and then that directs you to the correct guide.

I checked on the Dell website and I couldn't find any information on upgrading the memory. Does anyone know if the keyboard section lifts up like that of a IBM Thinkpad.

cheers

Every Dell paptop I've used in the past half dozen years or so have had the memory accessible from underneath by removing a small panel with a small Philips head screwdriver. There should be a few other panels down there too; a large one for the CPU and GPU heatsink, the WiFI card, the hard disk, and the memory. Some of them might have combined panels.

Get a screwdriver and find out. :)

I know on some of the latest ones (maybe all?) there's one memory slot accessible from underneath, and another under the keyboard.
