How to fit temp sensors ?

I have bought a temp monitor for the computer and i'm not sure where to fit the sensor for the cpu, its a p4 3.0ghz presscot with a scythe ninja fitted on top. Does the sensor go on the cpu or what lol, I know i'm a n00b lol...

Anywhere apart from between the cpu and the heatsink. The closer to the cpu the more accurate it will be. If you can, stick it to the side of the cpu heatspreader, if not stick it on the ninja somewhere, such as the edge of the copper base or the aluminium heatsink on the bottom or one of the heatpipes. Do not put it on the cpu heatspreader or the main part of the heatsink base, only the edges.
