How to get 4.2ghz

Lol! I was being funny - hence the two smiley faces? - but you obviously consider yourself as the OC'ing Master, so I shall bow down. And, I meant the bit about the CPUs being different not the QPI/VTT bit.

Climb down from your horse, chill a bit and thanks for your continued help!

I'm just trying to state the obvious :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Lol! Fair enough

This is what I am talking about

Or this

It has helped me. Not sure how accurate it is but I keep a track of tried voltages/settings in an excel sheet. I also keep a log of benches so I can fine-tune my setup.

Also, have a good read here if you are a noob (like me)

Can boot at 4.6Ghz but temps are crazy. I can run fully stable at 4.2Ghz with 1.23v load in windows.

These are my old settings i used on the f7 bios i think.

try doing that with loadline calibration off... it's worth it considering the potential damage you can do to the cpu.

4.1GHz @ 1.38v (LLC off) - temps max at 76; tried for 4.2, but need over 1.4v to get it stable, and tbh, i don't want to go any higher than that

Aye i use different settings with the F9m and dont use LLC. I dont think ima damage it with it on when im so far under whats considered dangerous but i agree if you dont need it on then theres no need to.

Was going to say a 920 that will not hit at least 4.5. If it is the CPU you have the only bad 920.

I don't think that's quite true :p

Even with the D0s you're not gonna get 4.5 stable under load without water unless you're exceptionally lucky or live in the arctic. With the computer outside. My room temperatures are currently a moderate 20ºC, my o/c a modest 4.1GHz at a moderate 1.3V, and my temperatures under folding load (IBT would be a bit higher) are currently ranging from 79 to 85ºC - an H50. 4.5GHz would be taking the pee until I get better cooling!

I had finally got the right setting on the F10 bios firmware on the 4.20Ghz overclocked with 4 cores / 8 threads with both turbo and HT enabled on and got stable so far, temperature is also lower than 77c - all thanks to my tweaking setting on the bios.

Done prime95 for 3 hours so far:

Hi,
Would it be possible for you to show your settings? I have mine clocked at 4Ghz stable but temps are low 90's on full load.... Have more or less same hardware as you.

Thanks in advance.

Nice clocks mate we seem to have very similar voltage for clocks. What sort of temps you getting with Linx? What differences you found from the F9m bios?
