Has anyone got there cpcs (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) certification?

How do you go about getting it and how much did it cost?

Things like the komatsu-pw150

Specifically A10 and A12

Found a price list from 2005 which is £1600 each for a 10 day course for beginners.
I also know you need a health and safety test
Slightly confused what a N/SVQ in Specialised Plant Machinery and Operation is?

Any one know how easy it is to get part time work on 360s above and below 10 tons?

I'm an Instructor at a CPCS test center, you'll only need to do A12 because if you test on a above 5 ton machine you'll be credited the below 5 ton as well.

First thing you need to have is a health, safety and environment test (touch screen test) less then 2 years old. Then you need to do a theory test that consists of 87 verbal questions with a 80% pass mark and finally you'll be able to take your practical test.

This will give you a red CPCS card that will last for 2 years, before it runs out you'll need to do a level 2 plant operations NVQ to gain your blue CPCS card that will last 5 years.

Length of course depends on your experience but from novice this will normally be 10 days at a cost of around £2000 plus VAT including all test fees.

Hope this helps and if you need any more advice feel free to drop me a PM
