Am going to the Fratellis gig at the Apollo tomorrow night, but what is the best way of getting there?

Is there a train station nearby? Anyone know what time the last train back to Leeds would be?

Apollo is here or here for a better view

Guessing if you're coming over from Leeds you're getting into Victoria? Which is the other side of Manc so not ideal. You could get the Metro down to Piccadilly from Vic then get a black cab down to the venue easily enough (Will only be a few quid and there's a good little bar round the corner down a sidestreet). Or just get a cab from Vic, might be easier/cheaper if there's a few of you.

As for trains back TheTrainLine

Enjoy. A couple fo the girls are going then meeting up with us later. :)

from huddersfield i go to piccadilly (or if i go to victoria i walk to picadilly) then get a taxi from picadilly to apollo then walk back to picadilly with the big crowd :)

Get a tom tom, takes you straight there.

Honestly its not hard to fnid, i went to see Ricky Gervais at the Apollo on Wednesday last week, very straight forward to get to with secure parking nearby.

Train to Picadilly, then it's a nice 10 minute walk to the venue. When you come out of the station, veer left and follow a road down past all the industrial estates - it's literally just down the road and it's an easy walk. Check it out on a map and you really can't go wrong. If you don't fancy walking, get a cab - it'll only be a few quid but your best bet is Picadilly and not Victoria.

Cheers!

last time i went it was some chav gang saying "want ya car looking after mate for a couple of quid" and we all know what that means!

it's a 5 minute walk from piccadilly
the "secure parking" is as mentioned just scallies setting cars up to get nicked, if there are official car parks i havent for the faintest where they are and i've spent loads of time round there

What were their support act like? The Enemy or something?

Also what time did it end?

Finished around 10:30 I think...

Yeah The Enemy supported, but from what i've seen on The Fratellis forum the support band is different tonight.

If by "secure" you mean "not secure in the slightest, and run by chavs" :p

Had our car broken into there, even though I pointed out to my stepdad that the person controlling the so-called secure car park was blatantly getting him to pay to have his car smashed in.

Was an ace gig!!!

Although why do these things always take so long? get there at 7:30 (doors opened at 7:00) and it was nearly 9 before The Enemy came on (who weren't that great I didnt think) then they finished about 9:30 and it's another 30 mins before The Fratellis come on :(

Only just made the last train back

Yer the girls said it was good, the crowd was a bit young though (to be expected imo, plus my friends are like mid-twenties anywho :p).

Also we all prefere the Academy 1 over the Apollo really but it's still a good venue :)

the academy is a rubbish venue compared to the apollo
the only thing it has going for it is that it's a bit smaller
