How to get vomit out of carpet

As Django says, you really want a cleaner with active enzymes to break it down. They’re brilliant for getting rid of smells of vomit, bodily fluids, milk, mould etc.

Try pouring some baking soda over the stains and let it sit for a while. Hoover it up after a few hours, that should help with the smell.

Assuming these tenants have just moved out anyway then +1 for rug doctor to make the place look nice ready for the new tenants.

There is a carpet cleaner person around these parts.
Charges £25 per room and fully shampoos, and steam cleans the carpets.

The dirt that comes out is unreal...

Rug Dr hire has saved my carpets a couple of times with puppy and kids. They do a soloution especially for odours and it works really well better than other brands stuff I tried. Emptying the tank when done is an eye opener for sure........

For those considering the bleach option, not all carpets are bleach safe, make sure you test a discrete patch before you try and clean an area that is visible.

As others have said you need an enzyme based cleaner for this.
