How to handle morons

I notice it. In my rear-view mirror. A way behind me. I overtook some lad in an old Golf once, and in my mirror I saw him swerve into the middle of the road behind me. I think he planned to swerve in front of me, but totally underestimated how fast I could get past him, and was too slow off the mark.

I've only owned 200-250 bhp cars before so the step up to the Evo's nigh on 400bhp combined with relentless grunt is a nice change. Sometimes I look in my rear view mirror and just lol at the gap that's left.

These days I just assume every car I overtake is going to do it. My car is not fast so I only overtake when I know I can and then I tend to use the lowest gear I can and absolutely nail it till I'm well past.

For overtaking someone doing 25 you probably want second.

I don't know if I'd be doing that in a 40 though tbh. Would very much depend on the road.

For overtaking speed it's probably less about 0-60 and more about in-gear acceleration. I think some magazines use 30-70 or something like that as a measure.

The gay tints on the BMW are awesome. You dont see practically anything going on behind you, you dont see tailgaters, you dont see comically misaligned headlights.

I find that its a much more relaxed drive because you dont see the stupidity going on behind you

saw the same situation as the op was in a few years back. pulled up at some lights further down the road and the guy who was trying to overtake had left his vehicle, opened the door of the guy who sped up and pulled him out. he proceeded to give him a beating on the floor at the traffic lights.

shocking really.

Just had someone pull off the main road into a side street and try and squeeze through a tiny gap between me and a parked car. Typical council chav in a poorly modified corsa. Me not in the mood to ring insurance, ended up reversing even when it was his fault.

Cheeky ***** then puts his fingers up at me. These people need shooting.

I was sick of this when I had my first car. 60bhp was not enough to get passed most people. Now I have 200bhp it's much, much easier and people don't tend to do it to me much any more.

Funny how it works.

I've had similar, sometimes you just have to take a breath and let people get on with it.. car worth 50p and probably not insured unfortunately gets the right of way..
