Hi guys, Quick question for you

Ive been playing football with my friends now for just over a year, once a week. When I first started I could hardly run for 15 minutes without becoming out of breath, however I can now last the full 60 minutes with ease, however I still feel shattered at the end of it!
Is this because ive got to the 60 minutes and thats it? Or If I did say 90 minutes would the 60 become easier?

I ask because In the last 10 mins or so my legs almost go to jelly as where others are still running around like madmen!

Ive got a gym membership and use it maybe twice a month, been meaning to get back into it but hurt my shoulder a while back and that seems to have stopped me going really :/ In hindsite probably shouldnt be playing football...but oh well :P

Do you run more now tho?
If you were running less/slower when you started and you're now running a lot further/faster now, that will negate some of the increased fitness you have.

Played tonight and I found 2 things.

1 not to go at it like a bat out of hell first off helped a lot :P
2 Bananas are amazing.

Going to try the interval training. but also my positional sense tonight was great meaning i didnt need to chase after the ball so much. good game :D cheers for the advice lads

Sprint interval training. Although there may not be a big gain in your VO2 max your time to fatigue will significantly improve.
