How to insert an Image to a thread?

I have done this before using flicker, but for some reason now I can not see the actual image, I can only see a small square where the image should be!

So how do you add an image to one of your threads? (I am using flicker to upload images)
 
On Flickr you can press 'Share this' above your image, then 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', from there click the BBCode radio button and copy the stuff in the box above into a post.
 
If it's showing a white square you might not be using the direct link to the image, perhaps you are putting the album URL in the [image] tags.
 
You can;t use flickr due to their rules and copyright they block the image and replace it with the square.

Use http://imageshack.us/

then copy the direct link and insert into the post surrounded by img tags

[ img] [ /img] - without the spaces.

Imageshack use to be slow and dodgy but I haven't had any problems with them for ages.
 
No space before or after the image url.
 
If you are using Firefox as your web browser you can get an Imageshack app thing so if you right click on any image you can select "Rehost image and copy to clipboard" then you just have to paste it in.
 
Microsoft Windows Live Skydrive is pretty easy to work out. You can just use the script in the new post box too.
