How to install IE8 on 7?

I know it sounds really simple, but MS seem determined to make it hard.

I need to use IE to login to my work machine via VPN but uninstalled IE a while ago. Every MS bit of advice just says that 7 comes with IE and all the versions I try to download are for XP or Vista.

Anyone know how I can get it?

Start > Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features on or off then check-it

Try this, control panel, programs, programs and features, then on the left it will say Turn Windows features on or off. Tick Internet Explorer 8.

Not sure if this is the correct way
