How To Make A Spaghetti Bolognese?

Well it took a while but I finished and its prety good! Only problem is it has broken bits of garlic in that wont go aweh!

I use tinned tomatoes but make sure they aren't sweetened, some of them have a high sugar content. I nearly alway add a drop of balsamic vinegar to bog sauce, it adds a lot to the flavour.

Just out of wonderment, how healthy is this? If it helps my normal meals consist of Oven Chips/instant mash + Meat/fish/pie etc + beans/peas, with the odd pasta dish and home cooked meal thrown in so if you compare healthyness between oven chip meal and this :)

Very healthy if you use lean mince and/or drain the fat off before adding the 'wet' ingredients.

What I did tonight...

Fry onions + bacon (I like it with bacon - shoot me :p)
Add garlic towards the end so as not to burn it

Whilst doing the above, fry mince in a separate pan and drain most of the fat.

Combine the two in one pan.

Add a few glugs of reasonable red wine, stock cube, salt, pepper, tinned tomatoes, teaspoon of sugar, loads of tomato puree, paprika, oregano and/or mixed 'italian spices'. Simmer for as long as you can be arsed - an hour or so works well depending on quantities.

Serve with spaghetti.

Yum :)
