Hi all

I've just got a Moto G to sit alongside my iPhone 5 and I'm finding it does some very peculiar things. For instance, I've set the Moto G to vibrate mode, yet when I open a game, the game sounds and music comes through loud and clear. How do I make it so that setting the phone to silent truly makes it silent? Additionally, after turning the volume down in a game, the music volume has also been set to 0. How do I separate the music volume so that it isn't affect by the in-game volume setting?

Many thanks

Basically what you're describing is working as intended.

Media volume (music and games) is seperate to ringer volume (notifications and phone calls).

If you go to settings => sound => volumes you can adjust all of them.

So how would I go about making all things silent (apart from music) without having to venture into the settings menu all the time (I'm thinking iPhone like flip of the switch on the side of the device type funtionality)?

Sadly there's no way to seperate music volume from game volume, as they're both treated the same. Can't you just go into the game settings and mute the sound on there?

I can do, but that also alters the music volume, which I'd like to leave untouched, just silencing the game with the overall 'vibrate' control on the phone.

Install a copy of 'Settings Exended' from the market and you can adjust all the volumes, or just set the phone to vibrate, Silent etc... from the Notification bar! :)
