How to measure PCI e spacing

I'm looking to get an ek gpu bridge for my 290s on an asus z77 sabertooth board. Are the measurements taken from the slot where the card slots into or above or below the header? I'm guessing it's the middle but just wanted to make sure before I order.

Yeah it's from middle of the slot your first card goes into till middle of the slot the next card goes into (and so forth).

Np, usually around multiples of 20mm.

Its 3 slot if using the first 2. While theres only a single x1 slot there the gap is 2 wide
