How to monitor the temperature of my USB extarnal hard drive

Does it not show up in something like HWMonitor when connected, like the other drives?
 
I have and external USB backup drive for my windows home server.

Disk management addin sees the smart data of the internal drives but not the backup external drive.

I was interested in finding a way to see this from the console
