Hi Folks,

Currently my itunes is on my gaming pc and I want to move it to my laptop. I have read you can backup to dvd but I don't think all the files will be able to fit on a dvd. Also, it's not really an option since my laptop doesn't have an optical drive.

Most of my music was bought either straight onto my iphone or directly through itunes on to my pc. How do I get all of my music/ audibooks/ podcasts/ apps onto my laptop so that I don't lose anything when I come to sync my iphone with my laptop for the first time?##

Once I found the correct library on my PC (you may only have one I had a few failed attempts). It was just a case of copying the entire iTunes directory to the new drive.

After installing iTunes, hold down the shift key (I think) and it will prompt you to select a library. Then just point it towards the directory with the iTunes folder and it should do it's thing.

Saying that, all my music was saved on a different drive and just linked to the library so when it couldn't find any music (as I had changed that drive also) I just had to point it to the new location of the music files and it worked everything out.
You probably won't need to do this if all your music is within iTunes.

Didn't need any software to do it once I'd worked out those basic steps although I can understand how it can make it easier.
