In my new house, I have a skylight/window in the roof of the bathroom.
Its the only window in there and therefore must be opened at some point to let the room air etc.

Now, its too high up for anyone to reach, and also has an arm to lock it open in a position.
Any ideas on how I can open and close this easily without getting the ladder everytime?

The issue with a hook is that when the arms locks down into the teeth, it takes a lot of force. I think unclipping it would be easy, but then when you wanted to reclip it down, not sure a pole (long thing, not person from poland) would be appropriate

assuming your bathroom is on the top floor. leave it open attach some string and pull it shut but not locked, then u can push it open with a stick if its not springy then just pull it closed.

to get the string attached, get 3 paperclips and bend them into the shape of hooks, tie all 3 on to some string, arrange into a triangle and tape so they cant move, now spend all day trying to hook it on the handle. lots of fun.

also possibly slide action force figures down the string.

This?

We have the same windows here at work and we use a pole to open/close it. He was cheap labour.

Seriously though, even though it requires quite a bit of force to re-'lock' the window, the pole is the best option, has a hook to un-catch it and a kind of U shaped bit to push on the latch to re-lock it.

It's getting warmer now so just leave it open and man up!

Alternatively, who is the window manufactured by? Why not give them a ring for any possible solutions...?
