how to optimise net connection

Hi all,

I've just had my upgrade to blueyonder 2 Mbit from 512 k, and I want to get best use of the new speed.

A download manager i run has been sucessfully downloading at 235kB/s which is approx 2Mbit (less losses), but a bandwidth test in PCpitstop (www.pcpitstop.com) is only recordng me at around 1Mbit.

It seems then there is a bottleneck with internet explorer rather than my net connection generally, so I need to tweak internet explorer to make the most of the 2Mbit speed. How would I do this?

your problem is that pcpitstop is slow, not your line

Yep, its very slow mate, i just ran it and it came back at 1100kbps, then i ran the ADSLguide speedtest and it came back at 1803kbps.
