How to overclock a 7850 past 1050MHz?

Mates, I have a bit of a problem. I've updated to 12.11 beta 8 with CAP1 and I'm getting random huge GPU usage spikes (to 92%) In GPU Tweak:/ I've also installed SP1 for Windows 7 but it might have been happening before, unfortunately I didn't check it. Hardware acceleration in FF is turned off. Do you know what might be causing this?

This thread rocks.

I already have a OC'd gigabyte 7850 bought it from here yesterday. Do i need to disable anything in CCC like the high preformance boxes etc before i run Asus GPU tweek? with it idling still at 300mhz.

Thanks.

This is mine. Whats going on with mY GPU model??

will this effect anything? This is running on a iMac 27 as a primary monitor.

Seems below average to me. I get 7663 (GPU 7558, Physics 8173, combined 7752) with a 2500K at 4.4Ghz and MSI 7850 @1150/1350. Are you using the latest 12.11 drivers?

I'm getting P6821 with the 7850 at 1200/1350 and a 3570K at 4.4Ghz, not quite sure where you're getting the extra grunt. Do you have Virtu MVP enabled Alf?

Had another go at OC'ing mine further last night to try for 1200mhz and i'm starting to think my trusty hx520W PSU might be on it's last legs, it's a good few years old now. When the OC fails in heaven there's no driver crash, just a BSOD or screen freeze that requires a hard reset.

You know I thought my score was a bit high - I'll re-check and see what's going on. I don't have Virtu MVP enabled - I don't think it works with Sandybridge CPUs.

Ok just ran 3DMark11 again, at default, and got P7658. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5206084. I haven't benched this card for a while, and now I think about it that does seem higher than I remember getting previously (maybe around 6800?). Unless I'm missing something obvious, the only thing I can think of is that I recently upgraded to the latest beta 12.11, which I think was supposed to give a pretty large performance increase.

Hmmm, strange as I'm on 12.11 beta as well :D

I'll have a play with some clocks and see what happens.

I wouldnt XF 1GB card tbh, it wont be a good investment. I would have personally asked them to up for 2GB for a small charge, as 1GB barely cuts it these days.
