well my brother lives about 100/200 metres away from me (not quite sure but tis a 5 min walk) and has 50mbs Virgin broadband with a N router, I was wondering how I could pick this signal up? I have a wireless usb stick and was thinking of soldering some sort of antenna into it and sticking it outside, could I use my TV aerial? or would I have to go out buying one? Every penny counts and If I could nick his internet it would be great.

Thanks!

If it's a clear line of sight... and your PC is near a window. Get an outdoor wifi atenna for about 100 quid. Mounts to side of house like a TV antenna.

Unfortunately you can't use the TV antenna LOL!

I used to do a lot of experimenting with wifi antennas a few years back. Look for a "yagi" antenna and point it directly at his house... providing it's a clear line of sight.

Hope this helps. :)

If you want to go down the cheaper route. Look on youtube... there's way of doing a DIY antenna :)
