How to post a photo?

Can anyone give me a pointer please?

Looked at FAQ and tried searching but can't seem to work out how to do it

The icons just above the typing pane - B I handcuff symbol and picture symbol are all pale blue on my phone and don't work

Tap the 3 dots.

Tap the yellow brackets.

You will now have access to it.
 
Im assuming you are trying to post a picture from your phone from scratch? (its how I read the question any way)

i use a website like photo bucket or image shack and you can upload photos on it from your phone

and then when you post on your forum post there will be an icon to put in the link from photo bucket/image shack website of your picture that will say 'insert image' where the format text will be

Thanks but do you have to pay to use photo bucket?

you can sign up for various image hosting websites. they normally give you a 30 day trial. you can use it, when it expires de register and go somewhere else . Unless you want to pay for it as after 30 days they normally ask for a subscription cost
 
Have used Imgur for years but now that’s asking for a log-in, since about a month ago? How pesky.

Is that the same for everyone?

I have an app installed so all I do is right click, upload to imgur and it does it for me and copies the link. Every few months or so it asks me to log in.
 
Will try the imgur thing but at first glance it's wanting to sign up before I can do anything with it

Just wish there an an easier way to just link to photo and post

Maybe there's an opportunity there to design/program something dead easy to use and earn some money(from sponsors not users)

Try taking a second glance and looking at the top left side of the page where there's a button that says New Post.

If using mobile they've been trying to get this to be default behaviour for a while. You've been able to force it by navigating directly to the desktop upload page but now they seem to have built around that. Just had a play and what works for me is forcing it to desktop mode by going to https://imgur.com/?desktop=1 and then top left clicking new post as Feek said.

Then, once you've uploaded your photo, select
"BBCode full linked" and paste the link here, after removing the URL bits at the start and end.

YES.

That seems to work well :cool:

… for uploading at least. Very difficult to figure out how to get conveniently get a forum friendly share link from a mobile :(

I seem to remember imageshack trashing their own userbase with similar changes a decade or so ago. Whyyyy. I mean, I do understand why, but I avoid creating accounts anywhere where possible.

Yeah they don't make it easy, and I expect gifs are reformatted to webp, but for simple images press the image, top right burger button, share links, copy away.
