How to pronounce beta?

It's not the american way of saying it at all, it's the greek alphabet therefore pronounced Bay-ta. Simple.

I say Bay-ta he says Beeta

I remember Betamax which I think was pronounced beeta-max, but I always thought we went with the greek which is definitely bay-ta.

It was also perfectly acceptable to call it Bey-tamax. But yes Beetamax was the main way of saying it. But it was a Jap invention so theyre bound to arse up the greek pronunciation

It appear most believe BEETA to be the UK way, and BAYTA the USA way. I prefer Bayta though. Beeta sounds naff.
