How to question.. help

Hi all

Have several modded pcs with fans and differing leds in them just looking for advice on what settings to use on my 350d with kit lens to stop them coming out a big blurry blue mess. Tried a few different settings but some exact would be great. The only time I get decent pics is putting the flash on and drowning out the leds.

Any examples of the shots you have taken?

Are you using a tripod to avoid camera shake?

defo use a tripod

use M (manual setting of aperture and shutter speed)

take some test shots and adjust accordingly to get correct exposure

I dont have a tripod but as its low to the floor I placed the camera on some books and then used remote release. Dont have any examples I deleted them in shame but if it will really help im sure I can recreate the magic

I tried manual but im still new to it and even reading the manual I think I didnt get enough light in so there all really dark.

books and remote release should do fine

if they are still dark you need to slow down the shutter speed to let more light in

depending on how much light there is (or isnt) you might need quite long exposure time
