How to re-establish domain trust relationship?

Hi all,
I'm having problems with an SBS 2003 domain. The Server died a few weeks back, so i had to re-install the O/S. I kept all settings the same, but the client PC's have detected it's not the same Server that they joined originally. This is causing a few headaches with people taking 10 attempts to login, and various other errors.

Removing the PC from the domain, putting it in a workgroup and re-adding it to the domain fixes the problem. However, i don't want to do this on each PC as it's a pain in the bum. Is there an easier way to re-establish the domain <---> client trust relationship?

Cheers,
Matt

Yes you will have to remove and add the PC's to the domain again. I would recommend removing them from the domain, changing the SID then adding them to the domain.

If you were to restore the server then no client action would have been necessary.

Thanks guys. How do you change the SID? Also, what's the best way to re-join the domain without loosing info? Should i just use the "Change" button in System Properties, or would the ConnectComputer wizard be better? Currently, every user has an Administrator account on their workstation, and roaming profiles are in use.

Cheers,
Matt

Have you had a look at the netdom command? Have used this is the past to reset secure channels between servers, no idea about workstations but worth a lookie. :)

Hi,
Sorry it's taken a week to reply. I've manually removed and re-added two PC's to the domain. However, i've still got 8 to do.

What is the right syntax for the Netdom command to re-establish the trust relationship?

Matt
