How to recover deleted files?

Anyone got any tips for recovering some 200mb or so movies from a HDD?

I accidentally deleted them a few weeks ago, but want them back. Luckily I don't use the drive for anything else at the moment, so they shouldn't have been overwritten.

Am in the process of trying Advanced Disk Recovery. I tried another piece of software, can't remember what it was called - it looked in the folder where they were originally, but it couldn't find them. Then again, it didn't seem like the best piece of software. I have heard good things about Advanced Disk Recovery.

Edit: Well, so far it has found 65k deleted files, that must be promising right?

I have used a bit of software called recuva before, try that if your software doesn't get everything back.

Download Hirens.

Loads of recovery tools on there.

So it found them, but I can only recover 5 of the files before it wants to charge me

Will try those that you have mentioned.

Have set recuva running a deep scan for movies on the HDD - fingers crossed

. They are all avi files between 60-200mb, so pretty easy to spot in a list of movies.
