How to release a GPU from motherboard? stuck

Theres a clip you have to push to release it, it always catches me out "why's the card not moving damn it?! Oh its the clip that needs releasing..."

ok this think is locked in proper, maybe the heat from the gold contacts from the GPU has melted in soldered in the PCIe slot, so basically ive got a 2080ti permanently conected to the motherboard, im gonna just take it in to PC world, see if the noobs there can do somting

I sold it on the bay yesterday, honestly the thing sold in 30 mins for 625

Pc world would probably be the last place I'd trust to fix a high end pc.

Also if you have another PCIE slot on your mobo, check the action of that clip on there so at least you have a pointer of where to prod around.

^This. There are other PCI-E slots to practice on.

Try removing CPU cooler and RAM, you may then be able to get to what is left of the retaining clip.

I had this problem once with Vega 64 liquid cooled, they were too heavy to unseat in horizontal position...
you could try unseating them in vertical case position... if you havent tried that yet.
