Alright people,

I've got a 2000 Mondeo ST24 but its got a tow bar fitted to it. I've had a look and it looks like its bolted from underneath the car and not from the boot. Also, it has a electrical connector on it. So I was wondering how easy they are to take off? Is it a case of just undoing the bolts, remove the tow bar and bolt back together?

Thanks
ps, If anyone is near Derby and fancies giving me a hand to remove it, it would be appreciated

Yes, thats pretty much it :) , i recently removed one off our XJS, bolts went through the boot, underneath and all over the show  , just be carefull when your disconnecting the electrics :) .

Spoken for truth.

I removed a towbar from my 7 when I bought it, the "check control" lights (that warn of duff bulbs & the like) have cried wolf ever since! :(

Tbh, leave it on - less hassle and I can think of many times I wish I'd left mine where it was (when wanting to tow ,for example!) :o

I'd leave it - helps no end if someone bumps you, plus you can use it as rear parking sensor for things like fences and other soft-skinned targets, I had one fitted to my pug after someone rear ended my car, the next time someone bumped me it pulled the bumper off their scooby and did nothing to mine :)
