How to remove Microsoft Edge's new Bing toolbar icon

I don't mind having the side bar as a option, as i am sure some might find it useful.

I knew you could hide the bar, but the button looked awful and needed to go.

Since Edge got updated i found all games to be throttling card and a lot crashes and freezes too. Found out it was efficiency mode in performance which was turned off. I turned it on and games are running normal now.

Good.

One thing that really annoys me about Microsoft is the way they constantly attempt to force people to their will. I prefer the "good old days" when I had to pay for the OS rather than this junk they supply now. I would probably use Edge if Microsoft were not constantly stealing all my the data (damn those persistent Microsoft cookies!!). And who on earth thought up the name Bing? I mean, seriously, that's as bad as calling an assistant "Cortana" - I mean we all know the story of Cortana, don't we? The implanted personal assistant that was actually a controlling spy!

Microsoft rant over..

Anyway, thatks for the fix. I do use Edge now and then (for two websites that don't work with any other browser) so it's useful to remove the Bing sh***

I don't use Edge other than to browse retail perks as the perks website (work perks) only works on Edge, so the bing additions were highly annoying!

I'm not a huge Edge user. I only reinstalled it about a week ago. The video in the OP worked for me for about a day, then the Bing button was back again. I found this simple reg edit online this morning and it worked straight away. Didn't even need to reboot my PC. Time will tell how long it lasts I suppose.
