How to remove water cooling without making a mess?

It probably is a dumb question but I really don't know where to start from lol. I just ordered new parts to upgrade my PC, which has a basic water cooling kit (CPU only) that came with my case, the TT armour LCS. I need to take everything of the case, where should I start?

Have you got a picture of your set up?

Sure, here's a pic from when I was building it. It is a large image

Tilt that res/pump on its side so that top tube is outside of the case and remove the hose from the fitting over a bowl.

That should drain most of the system

If you can do it without draining just unbolt the block from the cpu, undo the rad from however you have it fixed in place and just take it out of the case complete. I don't see any need to drain it down. I have done loads of rebuild without draining my loop down.

Alright, thanks.

Another question, the rad is placed in the front of my case, can I just leave it there after I'm done to provide some more cooling? Or do I have to replace it with 2 simple fans?

If you are re-using the watercooling loop then leave it there. It would be a good opportunity to give it a blow through with compressed air to remove any dust. Do it in reverse. If you have it as fans blowing through from the front then blow it out from the back and vice versa. If you are taking the watercooling out then remove it and replace it with fans.

No I'm done with watercooling for now. If I leave it it will be completely useless?
I'm not quite sure if I can place fans there. I mean they would fit, but I'm not sure if there is any appropriate mounting for fans.

You have to buy another or you could do what i did when i had my TT Armour and a couple of other cases too. You can easily use four cable ties to fit a fan in the 5.25" bays. As the front covers on the Armour are filtered it doesn't matter where you fit it. This is how i used to have one in my CM Scout:-

Obviously you would have to do it on all 4 corners (i used a double sided sticky pad at the bottom) but it's a quick, cheap and easy fix. It also doesn't matter how it looks as it's out of sight behind the drive bay covers.

Unclip the water block from the CPU and put it on the case floor, but the tower on a table, the should be enough slack now the CPU block is lower to move the res out of the case and down a bit, hold a bucket/jug/something that can hold the water under it, open it and pour out.
