How to Repair Weathered Fence???

Hi Guys

I have a feather edge fence and some of the panels keep falling out. At the moment I am just slotting them back in by hand but after a few days they will fall out again. I tried hammering nails back in to secure them, but the wood was rock hard. I'm guessing it's oak and the weathering has made it solid. How would you repair the fence? Would you drill a hole in the panel and screw it back, or would you just replace the panels?

Thanks

I would drill a very small pilot hole and screw in, personally.

I am inexperienced with DIY, but want to learn how to do it so ...

- What drill bit should I get to do this (I don't have a narrow one at the moment). I have a Bosch PSB 600 RPE 600W power drill though.

- The width of the shiplap panel is 10mm. What type of screw should I use to secure it into the cross panel post (which has a depth of approx 50mm).

- Do you think I will be able to screw in to weathered wood using a screwdriver? I reckon it will be difficult. Instead should I buy a screw driver bit for my drill?

Thanks
