How to set lower cpu usage

he just kidding - guess you're having heat issues
there's no way within Boinc of doing it (unlike folding) but a while ago I recall a thread about a 3rd party program for limiting CPU usage, I'm sure a quick google on some relevant terms would give some results

The pc in question has a bit of a heat problem, a toasty p4 650 that shutsdown at 75c and the company director is tight and won't get air con :rolleyes: ( never mind if Seti isn't on its fine :D )
but have found http://threadmaster.tripod.com/ that limits cpu usage via some reg edits and works a treat.

I think threadmaster was the one that was mentioned before - can't remember hearing anything bad about it, well besides the fact that it actually works and thus leads to slackification of course :p

If it's a case of getting it to run at 50% or having none at all I guess we can let you off "the punishment" ;)
