How to setup a Linksys WAG354G help

Hi,

Just a few questions to clear things up...

I am getting a Linksys WAG354G for a friend of mine. Having never used an ADSL router before I am wondering how I would go about setting this up to work with her 8mb Eclipse Evolution Broadband. Basically I need to know what settings to use and where.

Also, her PC will be connected to it wirelessly. Will I have to connect the PC to it via Ethernet first in order to set the router up or will it simply just work wirelessly out of the box?

One last thing, what is the best way of securing the wireless connection on this router?

You'll need as the minimum:
Her username.
Her password.
The VCI setting (usually 35 or 38 in my experiance).

Now:
You'll need a computer physically connected to it for configuration at first.
Type http://192.168.1.1 into Internet Explorer once connected.
On the first page, input her username/password/VCI

That'll get the net working, hopefully.

Now do this on the same page
Set the DHCP client lease time to maximum (trust me, it saves a lot of problems).
Just enter '9999' into the box.

Then for Wifi, click on 'Wireless'.
Set the mode to mixed.
Change the Network name to something descript. Do not leave it at the default.

Then click on the sub menu, 'Wireless Security'.
Set the Security mode to WEP.
Under 'passphrase', put in a word, then click generate.
The 4 boxes underneath will be the WEP Keys that you'll need on the PCs.
The default is to use the first one, that'll be fine. So use that one on the PC with the Wifi.

Now click on 'Wireless Access', then 'Restrict Access', then 'Permit Only', then 'Edit MAC Address Access List'.
Now input the Wifi adaptor on the PCs MAC Address.

Now goto 'Administration'.
On this page, do the following:
-Enable configuration over Wifi.
-Disable remote config.
-Disable remote updating.
-Change the default gateway username & password.
