How to share folders across network?

Prior to sorting out the triggering of the browser, on the computer which had the issues there are a number of "forced elections" in the even log - "because a master browser was stopped". Any idea what that means?

Don't think that is the cause because I have those too but you could check the other PC for the same time period and see if there is anything that corresponds to that because I assume the other PC takes the batten and becomes the master browser when the other one stops. Have a look at the ones that say 'Service Control Manager' in the source column too for any mention of the Browser service in the body of the log message.

Yeah there will be loads of stuff in the log, some of it just informational and it dumps all that in there each time you boot up as well as stuff that occurs whilst the system is on.

Not sure what the triggers are for the Browser service but I guess yours thought they weren't present when you had it set to manual (triggered) so it stopped the service.

Now that you have it on automatic is it still showing that path not found error for ages after the other PC shows up on the network?

That depends. There are indeed a lot of entries but Warnings (in amber) should be rare and Errors (in red) should not be there.
