Sorry to do this again guys, but have decided to reduce my budget for my new car! Any suggestions for this would be more then welcome! Would like it to be fun to drive but reliable! Thanks for your help!

Fun to drive but reliable?

Fun as in fast? handles well? can eat motorway miles like nothing before? :p

Specs man, specs!

My local garage (well not mine but one i pass every day) has a Silver 1.8 S Reg Escort for £2.5k so two of them, cheap to fix but if one does break take the other!

Or for £500 more a brand new panda

The choice is yours!

ok I guess I probably deserved that.........

however am not really sure what I want so can't really give lots of details! when I say fun I mean handles well and is *relatively* fast. I won't be doing a huge amount of long distance driving, work is only 15mins away but would like to take it driving around B-roads just to enjoy driving it! Not a huge fan of Japanese stuff but saying that I don't really know much about them so feel free to try and persuade me!

Focus ST170 sounds like an idea I'll have to look into them....

Isn't the general opinion that the ST170 is not too fast, definitely not very economical, is a highish insurance group and to top it off, has a ford badge ? :p

check out 03-04 plate MG ZT 190+ (v6 2.5ltr) perhaps ? :D

also would rather not have really really high mileage, def under 100k! Have to say that Volvo looks very cool!

i'm also still looking for suggestions along these lines and budget. have the money waiting, just need to find the right car! been looking at the focus, leon, golf etc etc etc. seems to be quite a few nice golfs out there with the 2.3 v5 engine - i guess these arent tax, insurance or fuel friendly though! i'm getting really infuriated now...sorry for the rant/hijack - needed to vent! keep the suggestions coming!
