How to stop 'cool' calls

Hi

Weve had a problem all night !

the same company from another part of the world have phoned us at least 11 times which is harasment imo as im trying to relax after work is there any way to block them as the number is with held ?

If i have one more call from 'Victor' im going to unplug the phone for the evening which is no good as its my phone!

Are they selling you stuff?

If so, make sure you part of the TPS and then report them if tehy carry on.

There trying to sell my a service better than my BT line(im with telewest), which will give me cheaper calls!

If they are not in the uk, there is very little you can do about it. TPS won't help as they have your number already and don't have to abide by their rules.

New number realistically.

Next time they phone tell them to hold on and just leave the phone off the hook

Remember to leave it on loudspeak so you can hear them say 'Hello?' repeatedly. Just shout back .... 'With you in a minute! and leave them holding again

Tell them your putting them on hold whilst you get the landlord then place the phone next to a speaker with really crappy/offensive music, or porn.

That will really confuse them and then perhaps they will get the message, or just shout random swear words down the line.

or better yet, just answer the phone and if its him, just leave the phone on the side and let him chat to himself.

i think there is some sort of service where by you can select to NOT recieve calls from a witheld number. there is a way (1470 before call) for people with witheld number to still get in touch though (if any of your firends/family have witheld numbers)

try phoning bt and ask them about it. otherwise register with TPS, this can take up to 28 days to completely remove your number from the listings though.

Or get caller ID, and if there is a number you don't recognise or it's hidden, don't answer.

I always say I sell/work in whatever they are selling

works a treat ..So if I am offered a free Kitchen I make Kitchens ,Mobile phone I own a mobile phone shop etc etc ..that usually gets rid of them !
